How to Make Health-Boosting Turmeric Tea at Home

By Paige Charette

Turmeric tea, turmeric latte, golden milk...what’s the big deal, right?

Actually these drinks combine some of the best superfood spices that warm (and heal) the body as we slowly phase out of summer and into fall. Turmeric and cinnamon are two spices to incorporate into your daily diet, especially during our Fall Reset Group Cleanse! More on that later.

Let’s start with cinnamon! Cinnamon is easy to consume in baked goods, smoothies, sprinkled on toast, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and yogurt bowls. Not only does cinnamon help stabilize your blood sugar levels, it also contains antioxidants that discourage cancerous cells from building in the body.

One of the biggest similarities among cinnamon and turmeric is their anti-inflammatory properties. Both spices combat inflammation and swelling. Turmeric also has antioxidants that support heart health, ward off cancerous cells, and help ease arthritis pain.

Follow this guide for a cozy Tumeric Tea at home:

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium high heat. Whisk all ingredients together with a coffee frother, whisk, or fork until nice and foamy. Pour into your favorite mug, snuggle up in a fleecy blanket, and enjoy!

This tasty treat of a drink will make a great alternative to coffee, soda or hot cocoa during our final cleanse of 2017, which begins on Monday, October 23rd! If you'd like to reset your body before the holidays and receive numerous seasonal soup, salad, and smoothie recipes that can be enjoyed throughout the Fall and Winter seasons, than this cleanse may just be for you.
